The Mini Cooper S was designed with the Track in mind. It s Bulldog-Like stance that s low and wide matched with the location of the wheels as far out on the chassis as possible make for incredible handling. The 1.6L Supercharged 4-Cylinder motor pulls through the race track with exceptional throttle-responce and low-end torque. Weighing in at around 2,600lbs. the vehcile was designed with the Performance-Minded Track Driver in mind. Megan Racing has recognized the potential of the Mini Cooper and has aimed towards developing a line of products to enhance the capabilities of the Able-Bodied machine. The Mini Cooper S boasts a 1.6L DOHC Supercharged motor which displaces 168hp and 162Ft-Lbs of torque in it s stock trim. This mighty-Mini pulls around the track effortlessly around each corner and straight away. Like any motor this however can be improved upon. Your motor is in essence a pump, drawing air in, and then expelling the exhaust gasses. To make this pump more efficient you must decrease as much resistance before and after the pump. In the MCS, to reduce resistance after the motor you must obtain a more efficient exhaust system such as our 4-1 Header and then ultimately the Cat-Back System. To decrease the resistance before the motor you must let the car breathe. Megan Racing now offers an Intake heat shield that replaces the upper portion of your restrictive OEM Air-Box. This allows you to utilize any Air-Filter of your choice such as the K&N® or Accel® Kool Blue air filters. Weatherstripping is already applied to seal out the Hot-Air of the engine bay and only allow the cold air from the Air-Duct that is routed from the front or the Cowl behind the hood. This Cold-Air increases horsepower and torque by allowing a cooler more dense air charge to be taken in. Colder more dense air has more oxygen per cubic inch that is taken in which creates more power. The supercharger will also be a little more noticable and the throttle responce will be increased. The installation is easy as well as easily reversable with needing only basic hand tools and 15-Minutes of your time. Filters known to fit...
